Other things you can do to help manage your stress:

  • Get plenty of rest and sleep.
  • Eat healthy and drink water.
  • Make time for yourself – put aside at least 30 minutes a day to do something you enjoy.
  • Practice deep breathing.
  • Play sports, try yoga or exercise.
  • Do something creative.
  • Read.
  • Listen to music or play an instrument.
  • Spend time with a pet.
  • Think positively.
  • Laugh, keep a good sense of humor.
  • Leave a stressful situation.
  • Manage your time.
  • Try to stay organized.
  • Talk to someone.
  • Ask for help.

ConnecTeen is a confidential peer support service for youth in Calgary and area. We know that there are some things you can’t talk to an adult about or there is just something your friends don’t get about you. We can connect you with a peer who understands your unique perspective and can help talk you though your issues. We don’t judge. We are here to listen. Our service is confidential and anonymous so no one needs to know you contacted us.

Kids Health
A safe, private place for teens who need honest, accurate information and advice about health, emotions, and life. Kids Health is accessible 24 hours a day so you can get the doctor-approved information you need to make educated decisions — or help a friend who needs advice.

This simple, online, private, mental health check-up can identify some symptoms of depression, anxiety or bipolar disorder so you can get help if you need it. You can also learn more about mood disorders and find resources to help yourself, your family members, or friends.
